Spanish Broadband Operator wins European Broadband Award Using Emtelle’s RTRYVA Solution
GuifiNET foundation (Spain, Catalonia) have received a European Broadband Award 2015 for ‘Best Project’ in the category of ‘Innovative model of financing, business and investment’
Submissions from some 48 projects from 17 Member States were evaluated by a jury of five international experts in the fields of broadband, telecommunications, systems science, economics and management. Projects covered all types of technologies and sizes – from nation-wide to small community-led projects in rural areas.
The GuifiNET FTTH project has been deployed using a “pipe in a pipe” solution, called “Atlantis Hydrotec® T-Series” This enables the installers to feed a microduct with pre-installed fibre into the water mains.
This system has been installed using Emtelle’s own fibre and microduct specifically manufactured for this application, which gives the ability to cover installation distances of 2km per day. All of this is done without the need to dig expensive trenches or carry out major reinstatement works.
Please take a look at the links below, the T series system and Emtelle’s microduct can be seen at 1 minute 50 seconds.
