Emtelle Named Among Scotland’s Top Private Companies in Grant Thornton’s Scotland Limited Report 2025

Emtelle, a global manufacturer of pre-connectorised blown fibre solutions and ducted network infrastructure, has once again been recognised as one of Scotland’s top private companies in the Grant Thornton Scotland Limited Report 2025. The announcement highlights Emtelle’s continued growth from its headquarters in the Scottish Borders, and its contribution to Scotland’s position in advanced fibre manufacturing and connectivity.

The report was highlighted in The Herald, where Neil McInnes, Head of Corporate Finance, Scotland at Grant Thornton, described Emtelle as “a real success story for Scotland”. It went on to highlight in particular Emtelle’s manufacturing HQ in Scotland, its global operations, acquisition of Ridgemount Technologies, and the facility which Emtelle opened in Fletcher, North Carolina.

Grant Thornton has compiled its annual Scotland Limited report since 2014. The purpose of the report is to highlight the drivers of the best companies’ performance, the growth sectors, and the global markets they serve. The report tracks the performance of the top 100 privately owned, Scottish-headquartered, companies every year to May this year.

Speaking on the recognition, Tony Rodgers, Chief Executive of Emtelle Group, who also appears in The Herald article, said:

It is fantastic news to see Emtelle’s contribution to Scotland recognised again in Grant Thornton’s Scotland Limited Report this year.

“I am proud that we have established a global business, which delivers pre-connectorised, blown fibre cable and ducted network solutions to clients across multiple sectors in every region of the world. Our expansion not only into North America with our factory in Fletcher, but also our new Global Innovation Centre and Manufacturing Facility in the UAE, were significant milestones.

“What makes this recognition particularly meaningful is that we continue to achieve this success while maintaining our headquarters in Scotland, where Emtelle was founded in 1980. Alongside our Scottish manufacturing facilities, we remain a proud Scottish business committed to investment, innovation and skilled employment in the region.”

Emtelle’s consistent presence in the Scotland Limited Report reflects the company’s long-term investment in Scottish manufacturing, its role in supporting global FTTx deployment and connectivity, and its growing capability in defence, security and telecoms technologies through Ridgemount Technologies. With its headquarters in Scotland, Emtelle continues to contribute to the Scottish economy while exporting fibre network solutions to markets around the world.
