Check the wheel in case of the incorrect wheel being used, and also check the wheel alignment as this could be a cause also or it may be that the guide plate deformed and needs re-shaped.
This may be because of incorrect fibre location- place the fibre fully under the rollers and fully in the wheel groove and check the correct location by a short manual turn of the coiler head, or it may be that the fibre is located correctly but will not stay in the groove, so alignment should be checked.
The likely cause of this is that there’s no power to control unit or power to coiler, so check the supply, cable etc. and switch on. Check that the lead is in place, that the connector is in good condition and check the fuses in the control unit. It may also be caused if the coiler head is incorrectly seated check this with locating button and hand rotation. Finally, check that the pan guide isn’t jamming the head by giving the head clearance below pan guide.
This can mean that not all of the levers are in the “on” position or that the compressor is not on a level surface- so we advise checking this. This can also happen when the compressor is frozen which is likely to happen in temperatures below 0 degree. To fix this, thaw the compressor out with a gentle heat or take it indoors.
To remove water, stop blowing but continue the air flow. The water acts like a brake on the cable, so this method will purge the duct.  Or you can remove the installed cable and check for moisture. If the cable is wet blow a sponge through the duct. Continue this until the sponges come out dry.
The likely cause of this is because of tight bends which are building up friction and therefore causing the cable to slow down. Lubricant can be added to the route to assist with blowing and also if the number of bends and the severity of them is reduced this will increase performance. If none of the previous options work a centre blow may need to be done to complete the route.
There are various reasons for a cable stopping suddenly, and therefore various ways in which it can be corrected, they are as follows; First of all you should ensure the blowing machine is operating correctly- for example making sure the correct torque and speed setting has been put in place and that there are no reliability issues with the machine. Secondly, you can try turning the air off for between 5-10 seconds and turning it on again as this can give the cable enough force to push past any faulty connectors, if the cable does not continue after this that means there is a blockage or damaged tubes. However, if the cable only moves a meter after this, the cause could be water in the duct or the cable has hit a tight bend, you should open up the bend and continue blowing. If the third suggestion has shown that there are no obstructions or bends where the cable has stopped it means there may be a bend which the cable has passed and this could be creating a high level of friction and stopping the cable, to fix this try opening up the bend or add lubricant to assist with blowing. Finally, check that there are no severe diameter changes in the cable which may prevent it from passing through the blowing head.
Check the Distance, then check for possible obstructions such as connectors, sharp bends, kinked assemblies, stretched products. Try blowing without the aid of a bead.
To prevent static build up you should refrain from using air bottles for prolonged use. However, if the ambient air pressure is very dry, you should consider using a compressor with reduced after-cooler zone to help with this or push water through the duct with a sponge, as this will remove any static build up.
There are a few options that will remove the moisture from your tubing. First, you should stop the blowing head motor and maintain the airflow through the head to purge the micro duct, and you should then check the after cooler operation OR if you’d rather, you can blow the fibre unit back out of the micro duct and check for moisture, if the fibre unit is wet we advise you to blow a sponge through the micro duct.
Outdoor (polyethylene) – 15 bar maximum Indoor (LFH – low fire hazard) – 10 bar maximum
Old and existing compressors can be used with the GS150. These must be oil free and be used with the supplied air filter or membrane dryer.
A crash test should always be carried out prior to installing any fibre unit. This allows you to set the torque to a limit that will not allow the wheels to turn if the fibre unit stops due to an obstruction within the microduct.
The GS150 is ‘shower proof’, but it is recommended to keep the machine dry whenever possible. The fibre unit cannot get wet during the blowing process so it makes sense to cover both items.
The maximum installation speed of the GS150 is 115m/minute.
One battery should last up to 4 hours on a single charge with ‘normal’ use. Idling, high torque and high speed can reduce the usage time. The GS150 can be supplied with a 12V in car power source for prolonged use.
The maximum blowing distance with any blowing machine is directly affected by a number of factors. These can include – microduct size, fibre size, number of bends in a route and air pressure.
